CTMH Australasian Punny Pals Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Punny Pals Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Wendys Blog then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you my creations which features Close To My Heart’s Monthly Special or as its also known, Constant Campaign.

I cannot tell you how much I just love the Punny Pals stamp set but oh my goodness the thincuts make life so much easier! I can simply stamp and then run it through my manual die cutter to cut the shape out. No fussy cutting here in the studio for this stamp which my ladies just love!

I have really enjoyed making this page layout using a photo of some fun we had in Kmart over the school holidays with 2 of my boys and some friends.

To replicate this layout:

12×12 Crystal Blue Cardstock

11.5×11.5 Kraft Cardstock

3×12 strip of Crystal Blue Cardstock but on the darker side, I used the CTMH Leaf Embossing Folder and then used sandpaper to take off the top layer to expose the white core of the cardstock giving a more patterned look.

8.5×8.5 Black Cardstock

8×8 White Daisy Cardstock and random stamp the Punny Pals over the top to make your own patterned paper.

Photo Mat is 6.25×4.25 Crystal Blue, 6×4 Kraft and 5.75×3.75 White Daisy and then trim your photo to size. I like the look of triple photo mats as it adds extra dimension. You will see that I have added foam tape under the Kraft Cardstock.

The journalling box is 3.25×4.25 Crystal Blue, 3×4 Kraft and 2.75×3.75 White Daisy Cardstock. I have stamped a Panda from the Punny Pals Stamp Set to make my own journalling card to fit the theme of the page. Yes my son is the Panda!!

Such a fun page to make without any colouring at all.

My next project was this Otter Card. I just love the sentiments that come with the stamp set. I have used 2 sentiments here.

I used the Basic Circle thincuts to cut a circle from the White Daisy Cardstock and coloured that using a sponge and Toffee and Crystal Blue ink, can you tell that Crystal Blue is my newest favourite colour yet? I then cut using 2 of the Basic Circles the outer layer in one of our new colours Pewter to go around the outside.

I stamped and coloured the otters using the lid of the inks and the Small Waterbrush in a watercolour technique, let them dry before cutting with the thincuts.

The bubbles were made by using my Waterbrush and a bit of ink to make a dot and then once dry adding a drop of Liquid Glass onto each bubble giving a shiny 3D appearance.

My last project for this Blog hop is a Black Square card. I have stamped and coloured the Punny Pals with Shinhan markers and cut them using the Thincuts. The heart is from the I Love Christmas thincuts only available until the end of December. Its so versatile I use this heart everywhere as it is such a perfect heart shape and size.

I have popped all the Punny Pals and the heart up onto foam tape and stamped the coordinating sentiment which each one. My make my heart smile!

  1. Wow what a great selection of ideas, love how you left the punny pals uncoloured in the scrapbook layout, love the liquid glass bubbles in your Otter card (plus the design is fab) and the black square card just makes the critters pop.
